The highlight of Cornerstone's middle school students' Renaissance unit was a visit by Queen Elizabeth, a.k.a. Maryanne Jung of History Alive. Queen Elizabeth arrived in royal costume true to the time period. Many of the students and teachers elected to dress in period costume also.
Queen Elizabeth performed a one-woman show describing the every day life of royalty and commoners of Renaissance England. The students were entertained with interesting facts about sports, foods, travel, and entertainment. The day ended with a Renaissance feast provided by the staff and parents.
